Underwriting Manager

The candidate must be a good team leader and able manager.
• Will work with the senior management in planning and execution of efficient performance of the underwriting department, and assist in the leadership of the underwriting team.
• Will help to coordinate a team of Senior Underwriters to ensure consistency in the application of the Company’s underwriting policies, practices and excellent service delivery to clients.
• The candidate must be knowledgeable in underwriting all classes of insurance.
Qualification: minimum 8 years experience, ACII and a university degree. FCII will be an added advantage

Senior Underwriters

The candidate has to assist the manager in planning and execution of efficient performance of the underwriting department, and assist in the leadership of the underwriting team.
• Will help to coordinate a team of Underwriters to ensure consistency in the application of the Company’s underwriting policies, practices and service delivery to clients.
• The candidate must be knowledgeable in underwriting all classes of insurance.
Qualification: minimum 5 years experience as an underwriter, Diploma in Insurance or ACII . A university degree will be an added advantage

Claims Manager

The candidate must be a good team leader and able manager.

• Will help to coordinate a team of Senior Claims handlers to ensure consistency in the application of the Company’s claims policies and practices and excellent service delivery to clients.

Qualification: minimum 8 years experience, ACII and a university degree. A strong legal background or FCII will be an added advantage

Claims Supervisors

The candidate has to assist the manager in planning and execution of efficient performance of the Claims department, and assist in the leadership of the claims team.
• Will help to coordinate a team of Claims to ensure consistency in the application of the Company’s claims policies, practices and service delivery to clients.
• The candidate must be knowledgeable in underwriting all classes of insurance so that the claims are dealt with expeditiously.
Qualification: Minimum 5 years experience as a Claims handler, Diploma in Insurance or ACII . A university degree will be an added advantage

Branch Managers

The candidate must be a good manager and have full knowledge of underwriting and claims.
• Must be able to manage the operations of the Branch and ensure that the set targets both in production and number of active intermediaries including tied agents are achieved and run the branch as a profit centre.
• Responsibilities include adherence to the branch budget, managing branch and field operations, identifying and dealing with intermediaries and direct clients

Qualification:
• Must be a Graduate with 5 Years Experience in Marketing, Underwriting, Claims.
• Diploma in Insurance.
• ACII will be an added advantage
Branch Accountants

The candidate ¡s responsible for managing the finance function of the branch under supervision of the Branch Manger and guidelines set by the Head Office.

Responsibilities include processing commissions, general ledger reconciliation, debtors reconciliations, Credit control Banking and Bank Reconciliation and providing monthly reports.

Qualification:
• Must be a CPA with minimum 5 Years Experience in a similar position.
• A university degree and knowledge of insurance will be an added advantage.

Key tasks will include:

Qualifications and experience:

Medical Sales Manager (Corporate and Retail)

The overall responsibility will be to grow the medical business, both corporate and retail

Key tasks will include:

Qualifications and experience:

Job Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Portfolio Manager — Equities will be responsible for analyzing investment portfolios to determine asset allocation opportunities to maximize return or minimize investment risk, review and implement the underlying investment guidelines and structuring the portfolios accordingly.

Key Responsibilities
• General portfolio management responsibilities of all equity asset classes including review analyze and re-balance client portfolios on an ongoing basis to maintain compliance with model portfolio.
• Maintain portfolio composition by monitoring individual security and sector deviations from index.
• Executing equities securities transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Analyze economic cycles with the view to determine whether growth or value methods of stock selection are most appropriate at any given point in time.

10. Internal Audit Assistant

Reporting to the Internal Auditor, the Internal Audit Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Internal Auditor in improving the Group’s accounting, administrative and internal controls and ensuring compliance with the laid down policies and procedures as well as compliance with relevant legislation.

The job holder will also assist in ensuring that the Group’s resources are optimally utilized and that the assets are safeguarded.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out detailed audit tests on group operations based on standard audit programmes as directed by the Internal Auditor.
• Gather adequate audit evidence to support findings and suggestions for improvement.
• Discuss the findings with the auditees so that only unresolved issues appear in the final report.
• Maintain adequate and properly referenced internal audit working papers and internal audit files.
• Assist the Internal Auditor in the audit of branch offices to ensure company income is completely and properly accounted for.
• Assist the Internal Auditor to carry out ad hoc special assignments.
• Write detailed draft and final reports including findings, implications, recommendations, management comments and implementation schedule for review by the Internal Auditor.

11. Information Systems Audit Assistant

Reporting to the Information Systems Auditor, the job holder will be responsible for assisting the Information Systems Auditor in improving the Group’s information systems controls and compliance with the laid down policies and procedures as well as compliance with relevant legislation.

The job holder will also assist in ensuring that the Group’s ICT resources are optimally utilized.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out detailed audit tests on all the Group’s automated systems in accordance with the approved Annual Audit Plan.
• Reviewing existing information systems controls on all areas of the Group’s operations and making recommendations for improvement.
• Carrying out pre — implementation reviews of projects requiring acquisition of new IT software and Hardware and assessing their technical viability.
• Carrying out post implementation reviews of newly installed information systems and system changes within the Group.

• Reviewing internal controls on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.

UAP Life Assurance Limited is a subsidiary of UAP Holdings Ltd and was recently demerged from UAP Insurance Company so as to focus it on offering relevant and innovative life insurance and savings products to the Market.

As part of a very well established group in the region, UAP Life has set itself very ambitious growth plan going into the future.

We are looking for a qualified and competent individual to fill the following senior position in our Head Office.

Corporate Business Development Manager

Role & Responsibilities

Within the framework of enlarging our client base and increasing product penetration among our clients, the Corporate Business Development Manager will be directly responsible for:
• Preparing business plans for the corporate business growth and executing the same
• Managing corporate client relationships
• Prospecting for new corporate clients and closing new accounts
• Re-enforcing value proposition to retain and grow client relationships
• Developing alternative business channels and manage channel relationships within targeted sectors
• Supporting marketing & promotional activities for the Company
• Ensuring that the set corporate business targets are met

Candidate’s profile

The preferred candidate must possess the following skills\attributes:
• Ability to deliver results when objectives are set and create a blueprint for accomplishing the set objectives
• Excellent relationship management skills
• High level of initiative and self motivation
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of Ms Office suite of programmes
• Proven track record in opening new revenue streams
• Task & time management proficiency
• Ability to work independently while also demonstrating excellent team working skills

Requirements
• Minimum 5 years experience in client facing and relationship management in the Financial Services Sector
• Experience of selling to senior levels of management, especially business to business and account management
• Proven track record of achievement
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics
• Professional qualification in Marketing, Banking or Insurance will be an added advantage

The main role of the position of a Financial Advisor is to sell insurance products and investment funds to prospective and existing clients and service the accounts thus created.

Specifically, the Financial Advisor is expected to do, inter alia, the following on a highly rewarding commission-paying remuneration structure:
• Sell insurance and investment schemes to prospective and existing individual and corporate clients;
• Relationship management for existing clients;
• Meet and exceed exciting and aggressive work targets;
• Work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment within an entrepreneurial culture that offers minimum supervision.

Successful candidates will need to possess the following skills and experience:
• An appropriate qualification/training in sales and marketing;
• Aged 25 years and above.
• Work experience in the financial services sector e.g. bank, insurance companies, fund manager, stock brokers etc would be an advantage;
• Proven experience and success in selling financial services products: experience of selling unit trust investment or insurance products would also be an added advantage;
• Computer literate (evidence will be an added advantage)
• A good working knowledge of financial markets and financial products;
• A high sales drive and a strong will to succeed;
• Mature, confident, articulate and with strong communication skills;
• Results oriented with ability to work under strict deadlines and meet sales targets;
• Well groomed, presentable and strong interpersonal skills;
• Outdoorsy
