Key tasks will include:
• Preparing certificates and cover notes where necessary
• Preparing policy documents, debit & credit notes & endorsements and authorising them within authority limits

• Ensuring premiums are settled as per company policy
• Reviewing renewal terms, ensuring renewal notices go out on time and following up renewals to ensure high retention rate
• Providing quotations where required
• Following up on quotations and tenders
• Mentoring Assistant underwriters

Qualifications and experience:
• Degree in relevant field
• Half way through ACII qualification (at least 145 credits)
• Minimum of 3 year’s experience in General Insurance
Underwriters (Meru, Thika, Bungoma, Kisii, Eldoret, Nyeri, Nakuru)
Key tasks will include:
• Ensuring that all systems and procedures are adhered to in the branch office
• Obtaining requests for and preparing quotations and its timely delivery
• Follow up on renewals
• Ensuring policy documents, endorsements, debit and credit notes and renewal notices are delivered on time
• Ensure safekeeping and accounting of all security documents
• Supervising branch staff and working closely with Agency managers of the various Business Units
• Enforcing the Credit Control policy and
• Marketing company products and services
Qualifications and experience:
• Degree in relevant field
• Half way through ACII qualification (at least 145 credits)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience
• Understanding of all business lines (General, Medical, Life, pensions) will be an added advantage
Windows System Administrator
Key tasks will include:
• Providing Microsoft Server Operating System (2003 R2, 2008 R2) support
• Providing Windows Exchange Server (2003, 2007, 2010) support including migration
• Providing support in MS Windows Systems
Qualifications and experience:
• Degree in Computer Science
• MCSE with MS exchange experience
• Familiarity with network infrastructure
• Familiarity with backup software and strategies including disaster recovery operations
Medical Sales Manager (Corporate and Retail)
The overall responsibility will be to grow the medical business, both corporate and retail
Key tasks will include:
• Growing the business against set targets both in new business and retention
• Enhancing relationships with intermediaries and direct clients
• Ensuring timely submission of quotations and tenders
• Ensuring proper set up of new and renewed schemes
• Assist in pricing of the various products and schemes
• Advising on terms of cover to enable proper underwriting and claims processing
• Coordinating presentations to scheme members eg. health talks, medical camps
• Assisting in product development to ensure that our products are relevant
Qualifications and experience:
• Graduate degree (marketing, commerce, insurance)
• Professional insurance certificates
• At least 3 years’ experience in Medical Insurance
Actuarial Analyst (Medical Division)
The overall responsibility will be to perform all analytical and statistical work of the division.
Tasks will include:
• Medical product pricing (for all the companies in the region)
• Product development
• Profit testing of existing products
• Competitor analysis and strategy development
• Monitoring claims experience and developing actuarial models to project claim patterns
• Negotiating re-insurance treaties
• Renewal of schemes
Qualifications and experience:
• Graduate degree in Bsc. Actuarial Science
• Institute of Actuarial Examination (UK) – IOA (minimum 6 papers)
• Minimum 3 years experience in Insurance industry, preferably Medical Insurance
Care Manager (Medical Division)
The overall responsibility will be to control and manage the benefit utilisation through pre-authorisation and case management, to ensure quality and cost effective care.
Tasks will include:
• Pre- authorising admissions as per set guidelines
• Negotiating professional fees with service providers
• Interacting with clients and service providers to ensure that the care is given within policy guidelines
• Reviewing medical reports and claims for compliance within guidelines
• Ensuring that accurate data is captured into the system
• Liaising with underwriters on scope of cover for the various schemes
• Managing the 24 hour emergency help line
Qualifications and experience:
• Degree or diploma in nursing
• Basic understanding of the concepts of Insurance
Medical Underwriter
Key tasks will include:
• Timely preparation of quotations within set standards
• Preparing policy documents, endorsements debit and credit notes
• Maintaining the membership database
• Inviting for scheme renewals
• Preparing underwriting technical reports
• Assisting in tender documentation
Qualifications and experience:
• Degree in relevant field
• Half way through ACII qualification (at least 145 credits)
• Minimum 3 years similar experience in Medical insurance set up
Medical Officer
The overall responsibility will be to provide clinical guidelines to the medical claims staff.
Key tasks will include:
• Guiding and advising claims staff on queries
• Assisting claims staff in obtaining required information from providers
• Reviewing medical claims for compliance within set guidelines
• Liaising with underwriters on scope of cover for various schemes
• Assisting in establishing and maintaining an audit programme for Medical providers
• Interacting with clients and service providers to ensure that the care is given within policy guidelines
• Participating in client meetings and member education
Qualifications and experience:
• Degree in Medicine with at least 2 years of practice
• Basic understanding of the concepts of Insurance

The Search
Women for Women International (WfWI) is seeking a dynamic business-oriented professional with development experience to manage income generation activities for program participants and graduates in Rumbek, Sudan.
We are seeking a person who can apply proven managerial principals to our income generation activities and staff. The Income Generation Manager will provide oversight and income generation expertise to enable economic self-sufficiency for WfWI program participants and graduates.
This individual ensures that all aspects of the Country Income Generation Strategy metrics for employment/self-employment income are managed and met. The IG program in Sudan currently involves vocational training (business and skills), savings promotion, pilot projects of various small businesses and a commercial farming operation.
The position is based in Rumbek, South Sudan.
