SOUTHEAST CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES HAS AN OPENING FOR A FRONT LINE SOCIAL WORKER FOR THE LITTLE GRAND RAPIDS UNIT

This position is located in the community of Little Grand Rapids and work days will be from Monday to Friday.
Travel allowance and accommodations are paid by the Agency.
Preference will be given to Aboriginal candidates.
Ability to speak Ojibway will be considered an asset.

DUTIES:
* As a Front Line Social Worker, will work under the direction of the Little Grand Rapids Program Manager and be responsible for providing mandated child welfare services as legislated by the Child and Family Services Act.
* The services will be delivered in accordance with the cultural values and beliefs of Southeast First Nation communities, with a view to pursuing preventive rehabilitative and protective goals.
* These services will be provided to the children and families who originate from Southeast First Nation communities, but who reside or require assistance in the Winnipeg area.

QUALIFICATIONS: BSW from an accredited university or related human services degree from an accredited university, plus one year’s direct child welfare experience or a post secondary diploma in a related field, plus three years direct child welfare experience.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Requires excellent organizational, computer, oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team environment.
Must have valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for business purposes. Must submit to a child abuse and criminal records check.

Duties:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clinical psychology services to outpatients, (preschool, school age children and adolescents) within the Mental Health and Addictions Program. The position provides assessment and treatment, through an interdisciplinary team approach on both an individual and group basis. The applicants should be well versed in psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with behavioral, emotional, anxiety, learning and other problems.

Specific duties and responsibilities of this position include: clinical assessment of the comprehensive mental health needs of children, adolescents and their families who are dealing with complex issues such as anxiety, behavioral and learning issues, trauma, witnessing violence, child sexual abuse, maltreatment, separation and divorce, and parenting children and adolescents; provide advanced clinical intervention to these children and their families through a broad range of therapeutic frameworks including individual therapy, family therapy, play therapy, group therapy (both with children and parents), and trauma debriefing; research, analyze, and implement theoretical frameworks to address the specific mental health needs of this population; design, develop, implement and evaluate group treatment programs specific to the identified needs; provide community education sessions and consultation. This position functions autonomously and may involve direct supervision of provisionally registered psychologists and psychology students.

Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology required, Ph. D or Psy. D. preferred. Registration or eligibility for full registration with Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Examiners in psychology is required. Required clinical experience includes: working with children and families affected by a variety of mental health issues or life circumstances; knowledge of child developmental phases and milestones including factors that would influence disruption in development; familiarity with developmental, behavioral and learning disabilities and appropriate cognitive and academic assessments; knowledge and experience in play therapy; experience in working with child and adult treatment groups, as well as individual, couple and family work. The successful applicant must demonstrate advanced clinical skills in assessment, analytical/critical thinking, organizational, leadership, supervision and oral/written communication skills. Personal attributes will include flexibility, self-awareness, and ability to work as part of a collaborative team, establish, and maintain effective working relationships. Electrician
PURPOSE:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation controls and equipment in plant facility, processing and production departments. Design and specify controls systems to suit controls strategies required for process/electrical equipment to perform reliable service. Ability to work a flexible work week is also required (i.e. Sunday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Saturday), as well as working afternoon and night shifts. Some overtime may be required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Install, calibrate and test electrical and instrumentation equipment to required standards.
* Emergency troubleshooting and repair of controls, electrical components and systems in facility, utilities, and production departments.
* Preventative maintenance and repair activities on all electrical and instrumentation related equipment.
* Ongoing training on new equipment and maintenance practices would be a requirement.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
• Grade 12 education.
• Licensed Industrial Electrician with 2-3 years of experience.
• PLC training and experience (particularly AB) required.
• Continuing education in process control systems advantageous.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES:
A technical background in the area of sophisticated packaging and mechanical equipment repair is desired. Must also have excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Must be dependable, able to pay attention to detail, computer literate, creative, and have planning and organizational skills, sound judgment, and decision-making skills. 4- Three to five years of experience in clinical diet counseling and community nutrition.

7- Demonstrated understanding of the impact of the social determinants of health on people’s ability to maintain a healthy diet.
