Declaration of Vacancies

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 246 (2) (a) of the Constitution and Section 5 of the National Police Service Commission Act, 2011 (No. 30 of 2011), the Selection Panel invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the positions of a Chairperson and five (5) Members of the National Police Service Commission as shown below.

A. VAC. No. 001/2011

Chairperson, National Police Service Commission

Article 246 (2) of the Constitution and Section 5 (1) of the National Police Service Commission Act, 2011

No. of Vacancies: 1

For appointment as Chairperson, National Police Service Commission, a person should:

i. be qualified to be appointed as a High Court Judge in Kenya pursuant to the provisions of Article 166 (5) of the Constitution;

or

ii. possess a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;

and

iii. be a citizen of Kenya;

iv. meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;

v. be a person of integrity who has served the public with distinction

vi. Not be and has not previously been a member of the National Police Service.

B. VAC. N0. 002/2011

Member, National Police Service Commission (Retired Senior Police Officers)

Article 246 (2) (a) (ii) of the Constitution and Section 5 (2 and 3) of the National Police Service Commission Act, 2011

No. of Vacancies: 2

For appointment as a member, National Police Service Commission under this category a person must:

i. be a citizen of Kenya;

ii. hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya

iii. be a retired police officer either in the Kenya Police Service or Administrative Police Service.

iv. have held the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police or above; and

v. meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;

C. VAC. N0. 003/2011

Member, National Police Service Commission

Article 246 (2) (a) (iii) of the Constitution and Section 5(4) of the National Police Service Commission Act, 2011

No. of Vacancies: 3

For appointment as a member, National Police Service Commission under this category a person must:

i. be a citizen of Kenya;

ii. hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya.

iii. have had at least ten years’ experience in any of the following disciplines:-

a) finance and administration;

b) economics;

c) human resources development and management;

d) public administration;

e) labour laws;

f) economics;

g) law;

h) human rights;

i) ethics and governance;

j) mediation and consensus building; and

k) change management.

iv. meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and

v. have had a distinguished career in his/her respective field.

Disqualification Criteria

A person shall not be qualified for nomination as a Chairperson or Member of the National Police Service Commission if the person—

i. is or has been, at any time within the previous five years, a member of Parliament or a county assembly;

ii. is a serving State officer;

iii. is a member of a governing body of a political party;

iv. is an un- discharged bankrupt;

v. has been convicted of a felony; or

vi. has been removed from office for contravening the provisions of the Constitution or any other law.

Interested applicants are requested to note that:

i. The names of all applicants and those shortlisted for each post shall be published in the print media after the closure of the advert.

ii. The salary and benefits for these positions shall be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

iii. The chairperson and members of the Commission will be appointed for a single term of six (6) years and are not eligible for re-appointment.

With the advent of independence in August 1947, the 563 princely States of India were gradually integrated into different administrative homogeneous units. The State of Rajasthan, in its present form came into being in different stages. The Matsya union comprising Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur and Karauli were the first to be ushered in on March 18, 1948. They were joined a week later by Banswara, Bundi, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kishangarh, Kushalgarh, Kota, Pratapgarh, Shahpura, Tonk and Udaipur. Exactly a year later, the four larger States viz. Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Jaisalmer also joined in. Together they formed the Greater Rajasthan, which was inaugurated by Home Minister of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on 31st March, 1949.

We are currently in the process of revamping our cash-in-transit division, in this regard, we looking for an experienced Cash-In-Transit Manager to spearhead this process.

This position reports directly to the General Manager. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the secure, safe and efficient operations of the company’s CIT division.

Qualifications, skills and experience;

Job Title: Operations Manager

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week – Note this is a salaried senior management position and the candidate will be expected to be on call even when not managing the Operations room – There is no ‘over time allocation’.

Purpose of Job:
• To supervise and control all company tasking and projects from an operational perspective.
• To be available on call 24 hours per day to respond to queries and requests from field based consultants.
• To provide a crisis management initial focal point until the crisis management team are assembled.

Major Duties:


1. Operations Management
• Work under the direction of the General Manager who has overall responsibility for management of the company.
• Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from customers who call the primary operations lines.
• Respond to all queries and requests for assistance to all field operators and company contracted consultants.
• Manage existing tasks and remain as the focal point for all tasks underway.
• Manage and maintain all tracking location systems.
• Liaise with the group Logistics manager to ensure that all tasks or consultants have the necessary equipment and communication systems to fulfill the company’s contractual obligations.
• Liaise with the Business Administrator to ensure that travel planning for all tasks and consultants are in place in order to fulfill the company’s contractual obligations.
• Maintain a 24 hour supervisory duty of additional Operations personnel.

2. Management of clients
• Ensure all interactions with clients are logged in the Client Resource Management System.
• Monitor effectiveness of the CRMS and report any problems or variations required to the office.
• Report to Sales Manager all feedback from clients.

3. Special requirements of the post
• An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the requirement for strict confidentiality.
• An ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness, common sense and local knowledge, to respond to
• Customer’s enquiries and requests.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A willingness and ability to work as part of a large primary team.
• Excellent IT Skills.
• Emergency response control with a professionally calm bearing and demeanor
• Additional tasking as reasonably directed General Manager.
• A minimum of three years experience working in a similar post in the security industry. Military background a great advantage.
• Excellent references essential
