Gas Tax Fund Manager (Whitehorse)

Salary: $66,042 to $76,246 per annum
This is a term full-time position until Mar 31, 2014, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

This position manages the department’s implementation of the Gas Tax infrastructure funds. The position is directly responsible for managing and supporting eligible recipients’ participation in the requirements under the Canada
Yukon Gas Tax Agreement. This position will work with individual recipients on potential sustainable infrastructure projects from idea phase, through to the final project completion and reporting phase. The Manager will work directly with First Nation and municipal recipients and indirectly supervise other Community Affairs staff work on gas tax infrastructure funding implementation.

Essential Qualifications
• Experienced in the area of gas tax funding or similar programs;
• Completion of post secondary course work in Business or Commerce in the accounting field;
• Experience working with First Nations and municipal governments facilitating capacity building with respect to infrastructure fund;
• Experience working in the accounting field at a management level, developing and implementing financial
programs, policies and procedure;
• Experience liaising with a broad range of public and government officials;
• Experience writing briefing notes and ministerial caseworks.

• Providing advice and assistance in a tactful and diplomatic fashion;
• Ability be an effective communicator both orally and written;
• Ability to facilitate and train recipients on obligations outlined in agreements;
• Ability to make and implement program decisions in a timely and collaborative manner.

Additional Information:
Conditions of Employment: Valid Class 5 Yukon driver’s license
Job Requirements: Travel within the Yukon is a requirement of this position
