Nation Media Group, the leading media house in East and Central Africa is seeking to recruit an experienced and self motivated individual to the position of Mechanical Engineer.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Engineer will be expected to deliver on operational and technical requirements in accordance with our quality standards while guaranteeing that we are true to our vision of being the Media of Africa for Africa.
The overall purpose of the job will be to:
• Use production maintenance software to plan weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly maintenance tasks;
• Ensure that all the tasks specified are carried out on due dates in accordance with approved procedures;
• Attend to breakdowns promptly during production and solve problems within the shortest time possible and;
• Install and commission new equipment including software and hardware
Knowledge and skills required:
• Basic university degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• At least 3 years working experience;
• Knowledgeable in applying best practice for print production;
• Demonstrable capability to fit and contribute within a technical and professional team and,
• Ability and readiness to work long hours
