Consolidated Bank seeks to recruit competent and highly motivated individuals for the following positions:
General Manager, Operations and Technology
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager, Operations & Technology will provide leadership, direction and coordination of all activities of the operations and technology functions in accordance with the Bank's strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Build a high performing team driven by a performance culture and ensuring that the Operations & Technology function has talent and people to support current and future goals.
• Prepare annual development plans, budgets, and a practical approach to monitoring the execution of the plans.
• Act as a business partner by developing, implementing and monitoring end to end back office processes and security.
• Develop operations, technology and security solutions around business priorities and ensure implementation of these solutions.
• Carry out capacity reviews and develop action plans to ensure business continuity and growth.
• Ensure all departments have a monitoring capability and reconciliation procedures that will enable the businesses to run as per the set policies and guidelines, and are adhering to the KYC requirements.
• Develop actions to ensure high productivity and efficiency while minimising risks.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships and management of stakeholders, customers and suppliers to ensure efficiency, customer satisfaction, compliance and management of costs.
• Participate in EXCOM meetings to review operations and technology performance and implementation of the collective management agenda.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelors degree in Banking and Technology, or equivalent.
• Eight years experience in senior management in banking.

• High commercial acumen and excellent relationship management.
• Strong leadership, strategic formulation and execution.
• Strong analytical ability, decision making and problem solving skills.
Head of Retail and SME
Reporting to the General Manager, Business Development, the Head of Retail & SME will develop and execute the retail strategy in accordance with the Bank's strategy.
Key responsibilities
• Develop strategies for retail banking, branch network, SME, alternative channels and card business.
• Develop a high performing team and ensure the function has talent to help the Bank meet its goals and objectives.
• Develop and recommend plans for expansion of branch network, operations, and financial activities.
• Provide marketing intelligence input from a field sales perspective for product development to design and launch products appealing to the SME banking sector and retail customers.
• Monitor sales performance against targets and develop actions to remedy the gaps.
• Ensure branch profitability in line with the Banks policies and procedures.
• Ensure the function is compliant with Central Bank of Kenya requirements and other regulators.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Banking or business related subject.
• Professional banking qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Six years managerial experience in banking and retail.
Key Skills and Competencies
• Strong business acumen.
• Demonstrated ability in banking business achievements.
• Knowledge of retail banking products, services and direct selling management.
• Problem solving and knowledge of operational policies and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service management and communication skills.
Head of Risk and Compliance
Reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee of the Board, this role is responsible for developing risk and compliance frameworks, take charge of risk detection, assessment and mitigation strategies ensuring these aspects are embedded into the operations of the Bank.
Key responsibilities:
• Developing an enterprise-wide risk management framework.
• Developing and establishing systems, policies and procedures to identify, control, manage and measure risk.
• Developing risk & compliance reports for senior management and Board of Directors to facilitate active risk oversight.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining effective business continuity plans & policies.
• Ensuring that the Bank's risk framework is in compliance with CBK prudential guidelines and Basel II norms.
• Implementation of extensive staff training and awareness creation to promote a strong culture of sound risk management and compliance.
Key qualifications and competencies
• Bachelor's degree in Banking, Commerce or other business related degrees.
• Professional qualification in Banking will be an added advantage.
• Eight years banking / risk management experience, 5 being at senior management level.
• Extensive knowledge of bank-wide business functions including credit, treasury, trade finance, operations as well as banking products and services.
• Intensive knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations by GoK, CBK and relevant international bodies.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
