Chief Accountant Job - Medium Sized Factory

Our client, a medium sized factory requires a chief accountant.

Duties:

Reporting to the Managing Director and shall be responsible for:
• Strengthening internal controls of the company and ensuring they are effective
• Liaising with external suppliers and all other third parties
• In charge of the companies finance and administrative functions.
• Prepare the company’s budget and ensure all objectives are strictly followed.
• Supervise all the accounts staff.
• Ensuring books of accounts are updated all the time.
• Liaison with external auditors.
• Preparing periodic and timely management accounts for the company
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the managing director from time to time

Qualifications/Experience
• Degree in accounting/finance
• Holder of CPA (K) or equivalent
• 5 years minimum experience 2 of which must have been in a similar position
• Proficient in computerized accounting systems
• Previous administrative experience is a must
• Basic understanding of the Kenyan tax laws
• Good reporting and communication skills
