The Retirement Benefit Authority (RBA) is a State Corporation set up to regulate and supervise the retirement benefit sector in Kenya.

RBA is established through the Retirement Benefit Act (No. 3 of 1997)

In an effort to enhance the operations of the existing team as well as increase its effectiveness in service delivery, RBA is seeking to recruit high caliber result-oriented persons with exceptional communication and IT skills who will work flexibly in a small but highly professional team and respond imaginatively to varied and demanding range of tasks.

Management Accountant

Department: Finance Department

Reports to: Manager Finance

Job Role: Responsible for ensuring the institution's financial resources are prudently managed in tandem with the Authority’s Strategic Plan

Special Requirements:

Key Result Areas:

Budgets and Plans
• Develop policies, systems and strategies for effective implementation and evaluation of the annual budget and long term financial planning processes to appropriately link the annual budgeting process with Authority's strategic plan
• Co-ordinate and evaluate programme activities and processes in order to prioritise and recommend budget requests, emergency funds, reallocations and resource levels.
Revenue Collection
• Ensure that all revenues are properly receipted and co-ordinate the timely reconciliation of all revenues collected.
• Developing appropriate strategies for managing the funds collected to maximise financial returns and forecast revenue while assessing the impact of any legislative changes.
• Overseeing the production of monthly cash flow forecasts and revenue reports.
Cost Management
• Prepare comparative analysis of operating programmes by analysing costs in relation to services performed during previous fiscal years
• Ensure fiscal protection for the assets and expenditure management of the Authority through adequate internal control

Performance Tracking
• Track Authority's financial performance with operating plan and performance contracts and to report and interpret the results of operation.
• Design and implementation of revenue and expense monitoring systems.

Education
• Min: Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field.
• Ideal: A related Masters Degree with professional qualifications such as CPA,ACCA or equivalent and membership to a professional body.

Experience
• Min: Over six (6) years experience with at least three (3) years in a senior accounting position in a relevant financial organisations focusing on planning and budgeting of organisational resources.
• Ideal: 6 years
Age: 30 - 35 years
