MSF France, Somalia mission is looking for an

Assistant Head of Mission

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Head of Mission and coordination team in Nairobi.

His/her main function will be to Contribute to the analysis and monitoring of the political and humanitarian situation in Somalia, provide daily briefings to the Head of Mission on the contextual and security developments in Somalia, with particular focus to the project areas of MSF, Make regular visits to Somalia, translate relevant documents for analysis and develop networks for the effective functioning of MSFF’s medical programs in Somalia.

Requirements
• Previous MSF or NGO experience in a management position.
• Somali nationality or Kenyan Somali.
• Strong familiarity with the Somali context and well connected with key actors in Somalia (Businessmen, Elders, etc…).
• Mature, flexible and responsible personality with a high emphasis on diplomatic skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali.
• Computer literate.
• Good analytical and reporting skills.
• Valid passport.
• Willingness to learn, develop capacities and take responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel regularly in a dangerous environment.
• Un-bias towards the Somalia context
• Ability to work well within a multicultural team
• Clear understanding of humanitarian principles
