We are a leading Company in Export and Import Industry dealing in Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Packaging and Removal services and Transport with a head office in Mombasa and a Branch office in Nairobi.

We have an opening for a Business Development Manager whose Job Profile is as follows:

Reporting to the Managing Director

Job Purpose

The job entails developing new market/business opportunities within the current business units and developing new revenue streams that fall within our core business.

The jobholder would also be required to streamline and harmonize the operations of all the business units in company and he/she will be in-charge of all marketing activities of the firm.

Main Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement business strategies and marketing plans for the company.
• To identify, develop and facilitate new markets and services opportunities for both established and current products.
• Prepare clients presentations, quotations and commercial proposals in line with customers’ needs, expectation and business requirements.
• To increase company’s involvement with the existing clients while at the same time effectively strategize to create new customers on a continuous basis.
• Design and implement creative ways of marketing company services and products
• Devise budgets and sales forecast in line with the company’s growth plan
• To establish team performance goals which are aggressive, real and tied to overall company strategy and ensure delivery of team targets.

The suitable candidate must:-
• Be a dynamic and assertive individual with the ability to draw resources together and manage multiple tasks.
• Possess the following Qualities:
1. Dynamic team leader;
2. Strategic and critical thinker with strong business focus;
3. Ability to initiate and manage change;
4. Strong and proven capabilities in Business development;
5. Customer focused and good PR;
6. Revenue and cost conscious; and
7. Strong interpersonal skills.

• Academic:
1. Graduate with a bias in Marketing, MBA in Strategic Management/ Marketing from a recognized University.
2. Academic qualifications in international logistics will be an added advantage.
• Working experience in the freight and/or logistics industry or related field.
• Should be between 28 – 35 years old.
