World Youth Day (WYD)Essay Contest by www.catholic.net to Write about your most powerful encounter with God.
Prize: Paid trip to World Youth Day in Madrid, August 16th to 21st, 2011. Includes flight to Madrid from the major hubs of North and South America and Europe, lodging, and meals.
Eligibility Criteria
Young people of any nationality between 16 to 28 years old.
Essay should be Maximum of 700 words.
The best essays will be published in a book.
-The experience described must be written by the young person who had the experience.
-It must be a true happening, and more specifically, an encounter with God.
-Should be written in first person as an eyewitness of the events.
-Names of third parties should be changed and any details that identify a real person should be avoided to respect privacy.
-Contestants may submit multiple essays to increase their chances of winning.
Essay Submission Deadline
December 31st 2010.
Each essay should be sent separately with all of the required information.
-There is no entry fee.
Possible Themes for Essay:
The Brevity of Life: God made me for something that is brief: life.
The Love of God: God helped me overcome sin.
Happiness: God helped me to live with meaning and to be happy.
The Love of Christ: I experienced what Christ did for me.
Mission: God called me to build a civilization of love.
Inner Change: God has transformed me and made me happy.
The Sacraments: I have experienced the love of God in one of the sacraments.
