UK SCHOLARSHIPS: UK College offers scholarship to top schoolboy rugby player

Bradford College based in the United Kingdom is here in Sri Lanka for the first time looking for a top up-and-coming rugby player for a three-year scholarship in the UK.

“Basically we will be selecting an outstanding rugby footballer for this scholarship through the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union and will be appointing a special agent in Sri Lanka to come up with the right player”, said former Head of Marketing of Sri Lanka Cricket Charith Senanayake who is the local consultant for Bradford College.

Senanayake, a former Sri Lanka opening batsman said the player selected would have the opportunity to play for the Bradford Bingley Rugby Club and would be able to choose the diploma he intends to follow at Bradford College.

“There won’t be any costs and everything will be provided for three years”, added Senanayake.
The scholarship is to be an annual feature depending on the success of the first scholarship.
Bradford College is also offering top sportsmen in Sri Lanka to study in the UK with a 30 percent reduction in fees based on GCE O/L results.

Former Thomian cricketer, Naveed Ghany was the brand ambassador for Bradford College and the best player of the last English Cricket League.
Bradford College will also extend the scholarship to a promising fashion model.
